Went up to Washington to see my very favorite band The Wallflowers during their summer tour. They're on the road promoting their new compilation cd Collected: 1996-2005; it contains lots of great Wallflowers tunes you know and love! Getting to shoot your favorite band is about as fun as it gets! Thanks to Jakob Dylan and Fred Eltringham and Greg Richling (and Stuart Mathis and Bill Appleberry too). They are a great bunch of really talented and really nice guys. Make sure to pick up the album and catch them on tour!

George Harrison Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

On April 14, 2009 the late George Harrison received a much-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of the Capitol Records building. His widow Olivia and son Dhani accepted on his behalf. Speakers included Tom Hanks and Eric Idle. Government officials included L.A. City Councilman Tom LaBonge, British Consul-General at Los Angeles Bob Peirce and Consul General of Bangladesh Md Abu Zafar. Guests included Sir Paul McCartney, Anoushka Shankar, Joe Walsh, David Foster, Ed Begley Jr., Rita Wilson, Jim Keltner, and former Traveling Wilburys Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty.

George's son Dhani, along with Oli Hecks, has a great band called thenewno2. I've seen them a couple of times and look forward to seeing them again soon. Their current album is called you are here.

Jakob Dylan and the Gold Mountain Rebels

Wonderfully talented singer-songwriter, photographer (and major mensch) Jakob Dylan, along with the Gold Mountain Rebels, performing songs in August of 2008 from Jakob's GREAT solo album, Seeing Things. Jakob's gotta be one of the nicest guys on the planet! And FUNNY! Why you don't read about that more, I don't know. Jakob hasn't let being nominated as one of Vanity Fair's Most Handsome Men in the World go to his head. Nope, he's still keeping that head-size in check for his ever-growing collection of stylish hats.

Make sure to catch Jakob and the other Wallflowers (Fred Eltringham and Greg Richling, along with Stuart Mathis and Bill Appleberry) on their tour of the US this summer as they promote Collected: 1996-2005, a great compilation of Wallflowers hits. It's a must-have.

Photos taken in Costa Mesa, California on July 18, 2008. A great show by my favorite group! Super-talented and super-nice; it doesn't get any better than that. The ever-fabulous Wallflowers were Jakob Dylan: vocals and guitar, Fred Eltringham: drums, Greg Richling: bass with Ben Peeler on steel.

at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA. 3-25-09 Not only is James talented, he's very nice. He's also very funny. Near the end of the evening, he slipped in a pair of horrible fake teeth. You'll note a very scary image that looks like something out of a horror film. That was taken when James and his scary teeth jumped right into my face. It's a miracle I lived to get the shot!
